Firefighter I

Firefighter I is an entry-level course for new firefighters. Course consists of a combination of classroom study, scenarios and modular practical experiences that will prepare the firefighter to carry out most fire ground functions under the direct supervision of an officer or experienced firefighter. 

Firefighter II

Firefighter II is designed for the Firefighter I who is prepared to assume more of a leadership role in a department. Course consists primarily of classes designed to give the student more knowledge of fire ground situations so that he or she can make basic evaluations of safety problems in carrying out operations. 



PRECOURSE REQUIREMENTS:

1. Prerequisites: Students must be at least 16 years of age in order to enroll in the course. Junior Firefighters must comply with all Junior Firefighters prerequisites as defined by the Department of Labor and Industry (DOLI) Standards.

2. Equipment Required: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA).

3. Affiliation: Must be affiliated with a Fire and/or Rescue Organization.
